At Imagine Broadband, we’re dedicated to providing you with the best connectivity experience possible. We want to notify you of an upcoming change that will affect your monthly broadband charge from April 2024.

The way that your annual price change is calculated is the CSO Consumer Price Index (CPI) +3%. The CPI from December 2022- December 2023 is 4.6% so your monthly charge will increase by 7.6%.

What’s Changing?
Starting April 2024, there will be an annual price change for Imagine Broadband services. This is the first price change for Imagine customers. Like many businesses, we’re experiencing a rise in our costs from electricity to supplier costs, and right through to our commitment to becoming a living wage employer for our staff. Combined with this, data consumption across our network has increased by 24% in the past two years as customers live more of their lives connected & online so we have invested a significant amount in upgrading & maintaining our high speed network.  This adjustment will go to support the ongoing investments we make in our network infrastructure, technology, business and services.

What Does This Mean for You?
Your current monthly charge will be subject to the annual price change as per your agreement with us. The price increase taking place from April is 7.6%. We understand that changes to pricing can raise questions, so we’ve put together a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) below to provide clarity and address any concerns you may have.

  1. 1. Why is there a price change?
    This is the first time Imagine has introduced a price change for existing customers. Like many businesses, we’re experiencing a rise in our costs from electricity to supplier costs, and right through to our commitment to becoming a living wage employer for our staff. Combined with this, data consumption across our network has increased by 24% in the past two years as customers live more of their lives connected & online, so we have invested a significant amount in upgrading & maintaining our high-speed network. These factors mean we’ve had to review our prices this year so that we can continue to support our investments in improving our network infrastructure, technology, and services to deliver an enhanced connectivity experience for our customers.

  2. 2. How much will my monthly charge increase by?
    There will be a 7.6% increase across our broadband services. For example, if you are on our Hero product at €59.99, your new price will be €64.55. The exact amount will depend on your current plan and will be outlined in your recent communication from us.

  3. 3. Are all customers included in the Annual Price change?
    This applies to all Imagine residential & business customers who have a broadband service with us, except customers who have joined or re-contracted between 1st Feb 2024-31st March 2024. If you have recently ceased your service with us and received a communication about your price change, there is no need to contact us, your cancellation will complete as requested.

  4. 4. When will the price change take effect?
    The price increase will take effect from April 2024. You will receive notification of the specific changes to your monthly price prior to the effective date.

  5. 5. What if I have a discount?
    Don’t worry, this will be taken into account. If you have a discount currently applied, the annual price change calculation will be based on your standard monthly charge before any discount is applied. For example;
    If you are on our Hero package, the standard monthly price is €59.99. If you have a discount and are paying €49.99 for the first 18 months as an introductory discount, when the annual price change is calculated, it will be calculated on your standard monthly price which is €59.99 per month.

  6. 6. Can I change or cancel because of the price increase?
    We’re sorry to hear you want to leave. If you are no longer in contract with us, you can cancel your broadband with us with 30 days’ notice by contacting us here. Remember if you are currently in contract, this price change will apply as per your terms and conditions, and you will be subject to an Early Termination Fee if you choose to leave early.

  7. 7. What is the Consumer Price Index (CPI)?
    The CPI is a measure of changes in the price of goods and services based on average price changes from across several industries. More information is available on the Central Statistics Office website:
    www.cso.ie/en/statistics/prices/consumerpriceindex/. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 4.6% between December 2022 and December 2023 (published in January) which is the number used to calculate your price change.

  8. 8. What if I’ve just signed up or renewed my contract with Imagine?
    The date of the annual price change depends on the date you enter into your agreement. The annual price change will apply in your first April bill. Customers who sign up between Feb 1st 2024 and March 31st 2024 will not see the annual price change until April 2025.
