How do I install my Fibre Router

These step-by-step instructions will help you to set up and connect your Imagine fibre router to your fibre connection. You will need to connect your router to the ONT (the box installed on your wall by the engineer) using the yellow ethernet cable that comes with with the router.

Setting up the Imagine Fibre Router – Huawei (WiFi 7)

Step 1: Connect Your Router

• Plug the supplied white power cable into the ‘POWER’ port of the Imagine-Huawei fibre router and plug into an electrical socket in your home. 
• Switch on the router using the ‘ON’ Button at the back of the router.
• Connect the 2.5G WAN port on the router (highlighted in red) into the LAN port of the ONT (internet source) using the supplied yellow & grey ethernet cable.
• Make sure the power cable for the ONT is also plugged into an electrical socket in your home.
• Wait for the router to start up.

⚠️ Important:

• The small RESET option at the back of the router is for technical use only. 
• Do not press or hold this button, as it will reset your router and disconnect your service.

Step 2: Automatic Setup

• The router will configure itself automatically once connected.
• This usually takes a few minutes.
• Setup is complete when the following lights turn Green: 

Step 3: Connect Your Devices (Wi-Fi)

• On your phone, laptop, or tablet, go to Wi-Fi settings.
• Select your network name that starts with ‘Imagine_xxxxx’.
• Enter the WLAN Key (WiFi Password) printed on the back of the router.
• Once connected, you’re ready to browse.

Step 4: Connect Using a Cable (Optional)

• Plug the LAN cable into your device (e.g. computer).
• Connect the other end to one of the router’s LAN ports (1–3).

⚠️ Note:

• The WAN port is only for your internet connection, not for devices.
• For customers on 2Gb Fibre broadband, you can connect your device to the 2.5G LAN port to experience full speeds (device must support 2GB).

Step 5: Connect a Telephone (Optional)

• Plug your desk phone into the “PHONE” port on the back of the router.
• This works if you have subscribed and have an active VoIP service. To activate your service please call 1800 938 100.

Setting up the Imagine Fibre Router – Zyxel (WiFi 6)

• Plug the supplied yellow ethernet cable into the WAN Eth port of the fibre router. 
• Plug the other end of the cable into the LAN port of the ONT.
• Make sure the power cable for the ONT is plugged into an electrical socket in your home.
• Plug the supplied black router power cable into the POWER port of the Imagine fibre router and plug into an electrical socket in your home.
• Wait up to 5 minutes for all the connections to be established.
• The Power light should be GREEN and steady.
• The Internet light should be solid GREEN. (If it's not, reboot the ONT (the box installed on your wall by the engineer)
• The Wi-Fi light should be solid GREEN (If it's not, make sure the Wi-Fi button on the bottom of the router is switched ON)

You can now test your connection by connecting your device to the LAN port on the Imagine Fibre router using an ethernet cable or connect your device to the Wi-Fi.

The Wi-Fi name is the SSID and the Wi-Fi password is the Wireless key - both are displayed on the sticker at the back of the router.
