Engineer’s arrival: The installation engineers will try to give you a heads-up with a call on the day to give you an ETA so keep an eye on your phone.
Have your Imagine Fibre Router Handy: Your imagine fibre router should have arrived in advance of your appointment. Make sure to have it to hand when the installers arrive so you’ll know exactly where to plug it in once your fibre is active.
A person over the age of 18 will need to be present, not necessarily the account holder. Please ensure that you have gained the homeowner/landlord permission to have fibre installed in advance of the appointment.
A standard installation takes about 90 minutes.
During Installation:
Connection Options: The installation engineers will carefully assess the best way to connect fibre to your home. Whether it’s through underground ducts, overhead poles, or specific wiring, we’ve got it covered.
Bringing Fibre In: When it comes to bringing fibre into your home, rest assured, it’s done with precision. We’ll need to drill a small hole for the cable entry (about the width of your little finger) and make sure you’ve got two power sockets ready to go.
Router Placement: Finding the perfect spot for your router is key! We’ll place it near the fibre connection box for optimal performance. And don’t worry about Wi-Fi coverage; we’ll help you find the best position to maximise signal strength.
Setting Up Your Router: Let’s get you connected! Your router’s spot should be in an open area, away from other devices, and close to where you’ll be using the internet most. Once it’s plugged in, connecting is as easy as pie with the provided instructions.
