Step 1: Try a reboot
9 times out of 10, this fixes the problem.
It will take a few minutes for your router to reconnect so wait until the internet light is on before retesting.
Step 2: Check for technical problems
Next please test your speed with an ethernet cable from the router to your device. Run another speed test over Wi-Fi. This will tell us if there’s a fault with the service or the Wi-Fi.
Step 3: Router location
Where you put your router can really affect your Wi-Fi signal and speed. For the clearest signal:
Step 4: Booster
Wi-Fi in an average house goes about 20ft depending on obstacles i.e walls, insulation, timber, concrete. If you have poor Wi-Fi coverage, devices connected to the Wi-Fi may experience slow speeds.
WiFi boosters will extend your Wi-Fi range. These can be purchased from most major electric goods suppliers.
Put a booster about halfway between your router and where your Wi-Fi is struggling to reach. Too far away from your router and your booster won't get a signal, but too close and it won't extend your Wi-Fi far enough.
